What is the goal of active living?
- To help sedentary individuals recognize the health benefits of daily active living.
- To encourage individuals to develop a lifestyle that includes safe regular physical activity as part of a their daily routines.
Did you know that an active lifestyle is an essential component in the prevention and management of diabetes and of controlling body fatness?
Getting started is the hardest part. Setting a realistic goal of just getting out for 30 min per day at a comfortable level will add up to a huge improvements over time. The first step is to get the cobwebs out of your lungs and joints. Next, the trick is to keep them out. On those days where you don't feel like going to the gym or for a run, remember that a 30 min brisk walk can keep you on track!
