Buell Fitness and Aquatic Centre

Monday to Friday from 0600 to 2100hrs
Saturday from 0800 to 1800hrs
Sunday from 0900 to 1800hrs

The Buell Fitness and Aquatic Centre, located in building T-118 on Ramillies Road, is the heart of the CF National Sports Centre. The facility offers a wide variety of venues to accommodate military fitness, military sports and community recreation activities.

The complex houses a gymnasium, free weight and Nautilus rooms, 2 cardio rooms, a climbing wall, a field house, squash and racquetball courts and an aquatics centre (including a seasonal outdoor pool skirted by a children's play ground).

Recreation Kiosk:

Andy Anderson Arena & Outdoor Facilities

The Andy Anderson Arena complex, located in building T-126 on Ramillies Road, houses a number of winter and all season indoor activity areas. Public skating, ball hockey, indoor soccer are but a few sports activities held here. Weddings are also held at the complex. Schedules are available at the Buell Complex or at the Andy Anderson Arena.

The National Sports Centre - Seasonal Facilities include:

  • a quadruple softball/slo-pitch facility (2 with lights);
  • 2 international soccer pitches (1 with lights);
  • 5 junior soccer pitches; and
  • various open spaces for group activities.

There are also numerous running trails; both paved and unpaved that circulates in and around the Centre.

All seasonal facilities have access to washroom amenities on site and are connected to the main centre.

Base Borden Golf Complex

The Base Borden Golf Complex is comprised of two separate facilities. The main course is located on the north side of the Base and is known as the Circled Pine Golf Course. The entry to the course is at the intersection of Somme and Saskatchewan Boulevards. Circled Pine Golf Course was established more than fifty years ago and features a very competitive 18-hole layout with practice facilities and a full-service Clubhouse for the player's enjoyment. Daily green fees, tournament and membership information for both facilities is available from the Pro Shop, 424-1711 or from the Clubhouse staff at 424-1460.

Circled Pine Lanes Bowling Centre

Circled Pine Lanes Bowling Centre is located in Bldg T-118, the Buell Fitness and Aquatic Centre, opposite Bleachers Sports Bar and Restaurant.  The Centre offers the following; an air-conditioned atmosphere for recreational bowling or a weekly bowling league at a reasonable cost; a youth program with qualified instructors to teach the basics of the game; a small canteen area for refreshments and courteous and friendly staff.  Special group bookings are available Monday to Friday during the day if booked in advance.  Saturday afternoons are available for Birthday Parties. Terra Theatre

The Terra Theatre is located at 14 Tobruk Road, Bldg P-72.

CHALET

The Chalet is a rustic building, steps away from a pond. 

It is the perfect facility for an affordable party, wedding reception, unit barbecues, reunions and other venues. Open to all ranks including civilians.

The Chalet is located at 201 Falaise Road, Building T-147.

BORDEN PUBLIC AND MILITARY LIBRARY

The Borden Public and Military Library is located at 41 Kapyong Road, Building E-102 (across Dieppe Road Worthington Park).

Hours of operation:

Monday                       Closed, except for special tours/activities

Tuesday to Friday         1200-2000 hrs

Saturday                       1200-1600 hrs

Sunday             Closed

Among the 50,000 books, DVDs, CDs, CD-ROM, magazines, videos and books-on-CD, you can find an excellent selection of fiction and non-fiction items for all age groups, in English and French. Free Internet service is available to Library members.

Membership is free to Borden Defence Team (BDT) members. To become a Library member, military personnel must present a Personal Liability and Clearance Card (PLCC). Other BDT members must present one of the following documents:

- Borden Community Recreation Association (BCRA) card,

- DND employee’s Liability and Clearance Card (PRI),

- proof of NPF employee status,

- other appropriate identification.

Members of the Borden Public and Military Library may also become members, (free of charge) of the Essa Public Library (Angus), the New Tecumseth Public Library (Alliston) and the Clearview Public Library (New Lowell, Stayner and Creemore).
