SKATEBOARD PARK & OUTDOOR RINK
The 4 Wing Skateboard Park will re-open this season with new state of the art ramps. During the summer months, the skateboard park will be open to youth to skateboard or to play basketball. The park consists of 10 ramps with an assortment of rails for the boarders to challenge their skills. Our focus again this year with the Skateboard Park is SAFETY. We want to make the parents aware of the equipment that is required for the teens and pre-teens to enjoy their sport in a safe environment. It is very important that all skateboarders using the park wear a helmet for safety purposes. THIS IS A MUST!
This outdoor facility is a community park. All members of the community are welcome to skateboard, play hockey, or meet their friends here. Rink staff would be pleased to answer any questions you may have about the programs and policies.
Skateboard Park Hours:
Monday - Friday 6:00am-9:30pm from May 15 Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-8:00pm
Please observe the following rules:
- Respect programs and permit times in designated areas
- Leave the park or any other rink area when asked to do so by staff
- Put garbage in garbage cans, not on the ground/floor
- Smoking/Alcohol is not permitted in the rink house or the skateboard park
- Be considerate of noise levels
- Do not use foul, offensive or racist language
- Do not fight or play roughly inside the building or on the rink surface
- Do not damage anything!
In case of a serious disagreement between staff and users about any of these rules, the staff may ask rink users to leave until the matter is discussed with the Recreation Director. If the rink user refuses to comply with staff's request to leave the rink, further actions will taken.
The Recreation Department is continually looking for volunteers to ensure the future safety, and weekly maintenance of the Skateboard Park. The mandate of the committee is to help organize events and provide information on new ramps for the facility.
