Weight Wellness

There is no tried and true formula for healthy weight loss, appropriate weight gain and successful weight management.  In fact, “cleanses and diets” that have been promoted by diet gurus have a very high failure rate.  Then how can we be successful?  The correct way to manage your weight is to modify your eating and physical activity habits.  This is where we come in.  The Health Promotion staff offer a Weight Wellness program which provides a safe and effective approach to managing your weight, and is designed and tested specifically for the Canadian Forces.

Designed for small groups of 10-15 participants, Weight Wellness consists of 8 sessions and is for people who are ready to make changes in their physical activity and eating habits to achieve or maintain a healthy body weight.  The programs emphasis is not on dieting, but rather on developing healthy eating and physical activity habits through its realistic and positive approach.  In essence, the programs self-directed approach helps participants develop a personalized Blueprint for weight management and to learn skills to manage their eating habits and physical activity for a lifetime.

This program offers the most up-to-date methodology for developing healthy eating and activity habits and achieving or maintaining a healthy weight.  Weight Wellness is a juggling act: with practice comes success in attaining and maintaining a healthy weight.
