Cold Lake Marlins

The Cold Lake Marlins is a recreational and competitive swim club for children ages 7 and up and Master swimmers (18 and over).

Based out of the J.J. Parr pool at 4 Wing Cold Lake, the Marlins swim three days a week with an  optional two days of dry land training. Our season runs from November-May.

Our focus is on stroke development and building endurance, through lane swims, exercises and fun activities.

Swimmers are placed in one of four categories based on age and /or maturity, physical development and swimming ability:

Group 1 - ages 7-9, swim time 4:15-5:15

Group 2 - ages 10-12, swim time 4:15-5:45

Group 3 - ages 13 and up, swim time 4:15-6:15

Group 4 (includes Dry Land) - 13 and up, swim time 4:15-6:15; Dry Land on Tuesday and Thursday 6-7pm.

We hold Mini-Meets twice a year, where recreational swimmers are encouraged to compete against themselves by achieving their "personal best" time. Competitive swimmers have the opportunity to travel to several out-of-town meets during the season.

We are a Swim Alberta sanctioned club and our coaches are certified with the Alberta Coaches Council and the Canadian Swim Coaches and Teachers Association.

Parents are not required to fundraise, but our swimmers are encouraged to participate in our annual Swim-a-thon fundraiser, which raises money to support new equipment purchases and social events.

The minimum requirement to join is the ability to swim 25 meters (one lap) of the pool unaided.
