Welcome to St. George's Chapel!

 St George's Chapel

St. George's Chapel (Bldg 206) is located on Morrison Avenue, across from the Central Saskatchewan Military Family Resource Center (CSMFRC) and close to the Detachment's residential housing units. The Chaplain's office is located in the basement of the chapel.

Roman Catholic Services

Each week, a Sunday Eucharist (English) service is held at 0930 hours.

Protestant Services

Currently, there are no Sunday services held on the Detachment. However, a number of Protestant services are held each Sunday in the nearby village of Dundurn.

Non-Denominational Services

Non-denominational military memorial and commemoration services hare held from time to time. For more information, contact the Detahcment Chaplain at (306) 492-2135, local 4299.

Baptism, Marriage, Funeral/Memorial Services

For information about baptism, marriage, funeral/memorial services available to your particular faith group, contact the Detachment Chaplain at (306) 492-2135, local 4299. A baptism preparation course is mandatory with at least three months notice prior to the intended date of baptism. A Marriage Preparation course is mandatory with a minimum of six months (preferably one year) notice prior to the intended date of the wedding. Spiritual Counseling is available anytime upon request.

Chapel Library

The Chapel houses a library and a number of books are available for you to borrow. Topics range from Theology, Grief Support, Self-Help (on many topics), Christian Education, History, Ethics, Novels, and more. These books are avialable to anyone to sign out, both military and civilian. The procedure is easy and is based on a trust system. The books and sign-out sheet are located in the basement of the Chapel. If you would like to take a book, simply sign it out and then back in. If anyone is interested in donating books for others to enjoy, please contact the Detachment Chaplain. Books and readers are always welcome. The library is generally open from 0800-1600 hrs during work days but only when the Chaplain is in. Call (306) 492-2135, local 4299 to check.
