The Naden Athletic Centre (NAC) is the hub of health and fitness at CFB Esquimalt!

With all the running, swimming, and lifting going on at the Naden Athletic Centre, there's barely an inactive moment across our 5200 sq. ft. complex!

[ Gymnasiums ]
Our two (upper and lower) gym floors are the site of daily EXPRES testing; group fitness classes; impromptu basketball, badminton, and ball hockey games; one-on-one training and unit activities; or multipurpose rentals. |

[ Squash Courts ]
Three busy courts take the heat of many squash enthusiasts who practice, train, and compete at the Naden Athletic Centre. |

[ Weight Studios ]
Members can push the intensity of their training with our extensive range of free-weights, and perfect their form with our new Paramount machines. |

[ Cardio Theatre ]
Let someone else do the thinking for an hour. Hop onto your favourite cardio machine (choose from treadmills, elliptical cross-trainers, stairclimbers, rowing machines, and stationary bikes), select a program - and a TV channel - and let your mind wander as your body works. |

[ Classroom ]
There are no books to hit (although handouts are not unheard of) in our classroom. A perfect location for meetings or courses of up to 30 people, we provide modern audio visual technology in a sunny, board-room-style environment.
Many wellness courses are held by the Health Promotion department; learn how they can help empower and enrich your life! |

[ Volleyball Courts ]
Hit the sand just outside the doors of the Naden Athletic Centre gymnasium on a sunny day - or, set up an indoor challenge in either the 3 lower gym or one upper gym courts- to serve up some fun! Our 6 nets provide lots of opportunity to strike up a game. |

[ Equipment ]
Getting active is easy with our vast array of exercise and sports equipment at Naden, including:
- Raquets, balls, and tees.
- Basketballs, soccer balls, volley balls, and more!
- Nets, goals, and markers.
- Exercise bands, kettle bells, and mats.
Ask any of our helpful Kiosk (for individuals) or Sports Stores (for teams) employees to check out the equipment you'd like to borrow.

[ Aquatics ] Swim, Soak, and Steam in Naden’s Salt water pools from from 6am to 9pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm Saturday and noon to 4pm on Sunday/holidays.
11:30 am to 1 pm Monday to Friday. See the current Activity Guide for other available times. Lanes are available to perfect your swimming stroke or try some aqua jogging – excellent for cross-training and cardio!
Our aquatics schedule is flexible to suit you whenever you have the wading, diving, and splashing whim!

Just a few steps from the the Naden Athletic Centre, Wurtele Arena is a full-service ice complex popular with military and civilian members for skating, hockey, and other chilly activities.
At the Wurtele, our standard-sized ice surface (85 ft x 200 ft), and canteen services make the most of your game or recreation time. Plus, our fast zamboni service keeps the ice in perfect condition.
With our extremely accessible hours (we're open every day - excluding holiday's - from 6:00am to 11:30pm) the Wurtele is the place to play in Victoria!
