Active Living and Injury Prevention focuses on providing guidelines to prevent overuse or repetitive strain, sports or exercise-related injuries or harm; encouraging CF members to maintain a lifestyle in which physical activity is valued and built in to daily life; and, reducing the risk of chronic illnesses such as osteoporosis. It is recognized that injury prevention strategies address a combination of environmental, social and individual factors.

ADDICTIONS AWARENESS & PREVENTIONAddictions awareness and prevention focuses on healthy lifestyle choices to prevent the use of tobacco and other drugs, and reducing the risk of developing problems with alcohol and gambling. The CF supports efforts to prevent addictions and enhance health through the promotion of healthy choices and the development of supportive environmental conditions and organizational policies.

Butt Out
Butt Out is designed to help participants overcome their addiction to nicotine by providing education and support in either a group or self-help format. This program focuses on smoking/chewing cessation medications; problem solving and coping strategies; relaxation and stress management; physical activity; minimizing weight gain; preparing for high-risk situations, and developing a plan for remaining tobacco-free.

This interactive program offers an effective, skills-based approach to managing stress. Through self-awareness, behaviour change and skill building, participants will explore the link between stress and performance, examine stress within a military context, and learn about the stress response.
