BRT consists of fourteen modules, totalling approximately twelve hours of instruction, practice and coaching. Topics covered include:
- Recognizing the danger signs
- Talking safely without fighting
- When what you heard isn't what I said
- Handling issues and events well
- Unravelling the mysteries of expectations
- Problem solving
- Playing together
- Preserving and protecting friendship
- Keeping conflict under control
- Core beliefs
- Sense and sensuality
- Forgiveness
- Commitment
BRT is not counselling!
During the program you will be introduced to research on what makes for a successful and lasting relationship. You will be given an opportunity to practice new skills by role-playing and continue the learning process at home through a variety of exercises.
BRT encourages couples to strengthen their relationship by incorporating effective communication, negotiation and conflict resolution techniques into their daily lives.
BRT has been adapted for the CF with permission from PREP Inc. by the Director General Health Services, Director Force Health Protection as part of Strengthening the Forces.
