CORE PROGRAMS


ACTIVE LIVING / INJURY PREVENTION
Focuses on providing guidelines to prevent overuse or repetitive strain, sports or exercise-related injuries or harm; encouraging CF members to maintain a lifestyle in which physical activity is valued and built into daily life; and, reducing the risk of chronic illnesses such as osteoporosis.  It is recognized that injury prevention strategies address a combination of environmental, social and individual factors.

ADDICTIONS AWARENESS & PREVENTION
Focuses on healthy lifestyle choices to prevent the use of tobacco and other drugs, and reducing the risk of developing problems with alcohol and gambling.  The CF supports efforts to prevent addictions and enhance health through the promotion of healthy choices and the development of supportive environmental conditions and organizational policies.

NUTRITIONAL WELLNESS
Includes healthy diet, weight management, nutrition for special needs(i.e. athletes, pregnant women), heart health and diabetes prevention.  Nutritional wellness in the CF involves providing the knowledge and environment to support CF members in making nutritional choices appropriate to their stage of life, activity level and overall health.

SOCIAL WELLNESS
Focuses on stress managment, anger management, suicide prevention, healthy relationships, domestic violence prevention, and healthy workplaces.  Social wellness in the CF also recognizes the important role that communities and families play in the overall health and well-being of individuals.
