WELCOME TO
THE MONCTON GARRISON

On 25 February 1992, an agreement was reached with Maritime Command (MARCOM) and Land Force Command (LFC) that 14 positions (10 military and 4 civilian) would accrue to Gagetown and be used to establish a Support Detachment at the Moncton Garrison on 1 April 1996.

The Moncton Garrison, is situated in the Greater Moncton Urban Community.  The spirit of cooperation, ever present among the three urban communities of the Greater Moncton Urban Community since the municipal restructuring of 1973, was a solid foundation on which to build. Although these three independents municipalities held strongly to their separate identity and political independence, their political leaders developed a remarkable record of cooperation which is still ongoing today.
