History of the Mess

On August 1st, 1964, the Army Headquarters were absorbed and became part of the Canadian Forces Headquarters and the powers vested in the Chief of the General Staff became vested in the Chief of the Defence Staff.

Under the authority of the Chief of Defence Staff, the Army Headquarters Officers' Mess continued under the name of Army Officers' Mess, hereinafter referred to "the Mess".
