As Base Commander, I am pleased to announce that we have been successful in securing a new contractor to take over golf operations at CFB Petawawa. An investment group has hired Mr. Miles Saunders to be the General Manager of Golf Operations. Miles spent most of his life in the Petawawa/ Pembroke area and is no stranger the Twin Rivers Golf Course. He was the Golf Pro at Twin Rivers 2001 – 2004. Miles comes with many years of experience in the golf and customer service industry. I am excited golf will remain part of our Morale and Welfare programming that we offer our CF members, their families and the entire Defence Team. In addition, the golf course is open to all residents of Renfrew County and beyond. Moving forward there will be both challenges and opportunities for Mr. Saunders’ team, but I am confident we can build a strong and lasting partnership. Please join me in welcoming Miles Saunders to the Base as the new operator of the Twin Rivers Golf operations.

I also would like to take this opportunity to pass on my thanks to Mr. Bill McAllister and his team of Ms Jodi Pearlman, Mr. Roy Barker and all the staff for their support in operating the golf course for the past seven years. CFB Petawawa would not have golf operations without them and I am grateful that they were able to provide a ‘quality of life’ activity such as golf to our soldiers and their families.
