Sports & Games Night
Come down to the GSH and join our Recreation Leader for a variety of sports and games!

Red Cross Swim Kids Swimming Lessons

Lifesaving Society Canadian Swim Patrol Program
Perfect fit for youths wanting to kick it up a notch and are ready to go beyond learn-to-swim. The Lifesaving Society's Canadian Swim Patrol Program uses a work hard/play hard approach, to develop swimming strength and efficiency with emphasis on personal responsibility for Water Smart® behaviour. Each level of the Canadian Swim Patrol Program has three modules: Water Proficiency, First Aid, and Recognition & Rescue. Swim Patrollers choose what level to take based on their skill level and interests.
Prerequisites: Need to know Front Crawl, Back Crawl, and Breaststroke Age: 8 and up
Date: Monday, September 16 – December 2

Time: Between 6:00 - 7:00pm
Cost: $60.00 per child + GST with GSH Access Card;
$70.00 per child + GST without GSH Access Card

Bronze Cross
Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross teaches the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding, the principles of emergency procedures, and teamwork. Lifesavers learn the skills involved in the rescue of a victim with a spinal injury, the rescue of a pulseless victim, and the rescue of a victim with deteriorating circumstances.
Bronze Cross pre-requisite: Bronze Medallion by first day of the course
Date: September 16 – December 2 (No Class Oct 14, & Nov 11)
Time: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
Cost: $140.00 + GST with a GSH Access Card;
$150.00 + GST without a GSH Access Card
