Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency  (CFPSA)

The CFPSA operates with a fundamental principle in mind: the customer is always first - the customer being the men and women of the Canadian Forces and their families. Our reason for being and our strategic planning process are relevant only to the extent that they allow us meet this goal. To reinforce a customer focus throughout our activities we enshrined it in our motto - "Serving Those Who Serve".

Personnel Support Programs (fitness, health promotion, sports, recreation, messes and family services), CANEX (retail and food services) and SISIP (insurance and financial services) cater to a host of requirements that contribute to the operational readiness of the Canadian Forces. Supporting these operations are Human Resources, Corporate Finance and Accounting, Information Technology and Internal Audit and Review services.

Our workforce consists of approximately 5,600 employees serving throughout Canada and Europe including support to deployed operations in Bosnia and Afghanistan.

The CFPSA is committed to providing its employees with competitive employee benefits and services. We are also committed to regularly reviewing our benefits. The costs of some of our benefits plans are shared between the employees and the CFPSA.

Volunteer Development

The purpose of the St. John’s MFRC is to provide quality programming and services designed to meet the needs of the local Military community. This is achieved through community participation at all levels including program development, management and evaluation.Volunteers are the backbone of this process. They provide additional expertise and create a more personal touch to available services.

Volunteers are fundamental to the Military Family Service Program (MFSP) concept. Volunteers play an integral role in ensuring Military Family Resource Centres (MFRC’s) are governed properly and have community involvement in program and service delivery.
