For general information, we bring courses based on a range of topics, delivered through the Strengthening the Forces program, including sport nutrition, mental health, and stress management.  For further assistance regarding your wellness pursuits, the recreation centre is home to on-staff personal trainers certified in fitness testing and experienced in military physical training as well as recreation and competitive sport.  Augmenting this is our Physical Exercise Specialist (PES), an exercise physiologist trained to adapt exercise in order to accommodate special needs including chronic disease, acute injury, and other functional limitations, as well as a source available for nutritional consultation.

In addition, the Life Extension Program (LEP) holds free weekly exercise training, taking place Thursdays, starting at noon.  Once monthly, between September and June, the LEP meets to weigh-in and screen for healthy blood pressure and also to hold an informational briefing on a select health and wellness topic.

Some one-on-one PES services are restricted to personnel with medial clearance; for more information on this, and Strengthening the Forces Health Promotion, contact Mr Jeremy Peressini at 403-544-4011 ext 5620.
