Programs & Services

The 8 Wing Trenton Fitness and Sports Flight offer many programs and services for the entire military community. A wide range of Fitness and Health related workshops; Fitness Assessments and Personal Training Sessions are available from our highly qualified and professional Fitness and Sports Instructors. Fitness Facilities Information

Military Fitness Classes
Military Fitness Classes are offered at 0630, 1200 and 1610, various days of the week.  Please see the schedule below for more information.

Fitness Development Classes
The Fitness staff lead fitness classes every morning of the week for military members wanting to improve their fitness and/or prepare for an upcoming PT test.

Mon - Fri: 0730 - 0815 hrs
Location: Gymnasium / Pool
Monday: Practise 20 MSR
Tuesday: Pool Training
Wednesday: Strength & Conditioning Room
Thursday: Circuit
Friday: Spin

Equipment Rentals
Fitness and Sports flight is pleased to offer equipment rentals to Military Members and DND/NPF employees. $5/day rentals include PFD, paddles, safety lines and pumps/bailing buckets and selection from:

  • 4 Aluminium Canoes
  • 4 Kevlar Canoes
  • 19 Sea/Touring Kayaks
  • 3 Creek/Recreational Kayaks
  • 2 Tandems Kayaks
  • 6 Sit on/Recreational Kayaks
  • 7 White Water Kayaks

Please call the Fitness & Sports Flight at local 2289 to arrange rental reservations.

Personal One-on-One Training
(Including physio referrals)
Have your personal trainer guide you through your workout. A great way to get started into your exercise program!

Fitness Appraisals
The Canadian Physical Activity, Fitness and Lifestyle Appraisal (CPAFLA) protocols are used to establish your personal fitness level.

CF Physical Fitness Award For Aerobic Excellence
A Canadian Forces program designed to recognize those military members who take part in regular aerobic exercise. Members have 2 years to complete 2000 units of exercise, at which time they will be presented with a scroll and seal. Members then progress throughout the higher levels of the program. The following activities are recognized within the program: swimming, jogging, skipping, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, ice or inline skating, walking, stationary or road cycling, stationary rowing, canoeing, kayaking, stair climbing and martial arts. Register today at the Gymnasium and receive a complimentary Log Book for recording your points.
