The goals of the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop are to create an awareness of suicide by recognizing the signs and symptoms of suicide, in order to assist in the reduction of the feelings and behaviours associated with suicide.
Did you know that suicide is still a taboo topic? Denial, secrecy and avoidance remain typical responses. We can overcome these notions and feelings to improve our willingness and ability to help people with thoughts of suicide.
SUICIDE PREVENTION: IT'S EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS!
