EXACTA CENTRE
Located in building 513, the Exacta Centre offers a broad range of services to members of the military community. The Exacta card gives holders access to a multitude of Valcartier Garrison services. It can serve as a rations card for living-in members and as proof of membership for those who join the Sports and Recreation Plan.
The Exacta Centre rents out accommodations for short and long stays. It is also responsible for processing the mess dues of all members (except Valcartier officers).
Note that the Exacta Centre is not in charge of private married quarters. Married quarters are managed by the Canadian Forces Housing Agency.
The Exacta Centre is open from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm, and on Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
MARRIED QUARTERS: CANADIAN FORCES HOUSING AGENCY
The Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA) is a special agency of the Department of National Defence responsible for managing all military housing in Canada.
Our efforts are focused on delivery of services to our clients. The Agency performs a variety of tasks. Responsibilities include:
• Assigning MQs;
• Planning remedial maintenance service delivery;
• Improving facilities; and
• Consulting users.
CFHA Valcartier manages 913 housing units, distributed as follows: 9 units in Quebec City, 140 units in Ste-Foy and 764 units in Valcartier. The vast majority of MQs were built between 1948 and 1960.
Offices are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. We also offer emergency services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CFHA offices are located at 1 Dubé Street, Suite A.
MARRIED QUARTERS:
COURCELETTE AND SAINTE-FOY RESIDENTS’ COMMITTEE
Reporting to the Deputy Commander 5 Area Support Group, through the garrison coordinator, the Courcelette and Sainte-Foy Married Quarters (MQ) Residents’ Committee is made up of a community-elected president, a vice-president, a secretary-treasurer and representatives/neighborhood councilors for Courcelette and Sainte-Foy. Ex-officio members are a representative of the Canadian Forces Housing Agency, a representative of the Valcartier Family Centre and the Director
Recreation from Personnel Support Programs.
This committee of citizens represents the seven neighborhoods that, together, make up the Garrison’s married quarters community. Six are located in Courcelette and one in Sainte-Foy. The Committee, through its neighborhood councilors, is actively involved in the on-going mission to improve the quality of life of MQ residents.
The Committee has a voice on the Valcartier Garrison Non-Public Funds Management Committee and may be represented at public hearings of the towns of Shannon and Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier. The Committee works diligently to improve existing services and to establish new services as new needs arise.
The Committee meets regularly and convenes an annual general meeting. However, MQ residents who have an urgent request to make to the Committee may do so at any time through their neighborhood councilor. The latter is duty-bound to answer questions from MQ residents and to advise them judiciously to ensure that their stay in Courcelette or Sainte-Foy is as pleasant as possible.
