MESSES
To this day, messes continue to play a social club and dinning hall role and are at the heart of social life in the various units. They promote esprit de corps within units and allow members of all ranks to forge friendship ties and establish better working relations in an atmosphere of cheerful camaraderie. The Valcartier Garrison mess commander is the CSU Commanding Officer. Mess managers are civilian employees of the PSP. Mess managers and mess committees are partners who share a common goal, namely to provide quality service to members and their families. The calendar of mess events is published on a regular basis in the Adsum newspaper and posted on the Valcartier Garrison Defence Information Network (DIN) web site.
