CANEX
The Valcartier CANEX offers the largest selection of goods and services available on any military base in Canada.
Among other things, CANEX is home to the Métro grocery store, which is open seven nights a week and includes a post-office counter. Customers also have access to the Valentine and Subway restaurants located in the same area.
The CANEX retail store in building 172 has a wide range of quality furniture, clothing and electronic goods to choose from. Shoppers will also find a large selection of furniture manufactured in Canada as well as home appliances, all at very competitive prices. CANEX offers only the best brands of electronic goods and the most attractive range of computer products at the very best prices. CANEX also offers an interest-free credit plan and members can now purchase items such as tires, garden sheds, scooters and a lot more.
On Route 369, near the married quarters, there is also now a complex, complete with a Tim Hortons, a convenience store associated with a gas station as well as a video club.
With every purchase, shoppers can collect ClubXtra points that they can exchange for gift certificates.
There are several other services available at the CANEX mall, such a credit union, complete with an ATM machine; a barbershop and hairdressing salon; a flower shop; a cellular phone sales counter; and a vacuum cleaner shop. A real-estate agent and a notary also have offices at the CANEX mall.
There is a family healthcare clinic, one of the largest in the area, where people can book appointments to see a physician, dentist, pharmacist, optometrist, chiropractor, physiotherapist or an acupuncturist. CANEX also offers property and auto insurance from La Personnelle. The Qualité Auto Glace car-parts store completes this impressive range of services.
As a division of the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Program, CANEX, in addition to ensuring that goods and services are available and sold at competitive prices, contributes most of its profits to the Valcartier General Fund, which supports the morale of troops and their families.
