The clothing store is located in building 188. It offers an exchange and distribution service to members of the Reserve and Regular Force. Our services are offered from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and on Friday, from 9:00 am to noon. For reservists, the clothing store opens on Tuesday evenings and weekends at the request of units.

GENERAL-JEAN-VICTOR-ALLARD MEMORIAL LIBRARY

Although the General Jean Victor Allard Memorial Library is located at Saint-Jean Garrison, you can borrow books from Valcartier Garrison. To obtain an access code, just call the library.

The library has a full range of books on every subject in both official languages.

The collection currently consists of over 63,000 documents (books, videos, CDs, CD-ROMs and DVDs) classified according to the Dewey Decimal system.

How do I reserve a book?

• Go to the library’s intranet site (http://biblionet.saint-jean.mil.ca/), make sure the book you are looking for is available and make your reservation.

•  Email the library at +BIBLIOTHEQUE@5 GSS Svc Sn Pers@St-Jean. Be sure to include the author’s name, the title and the call number.

SHANNON LIBRARY

Library services are available to residents of Shannon and Courcelette. Subscription is free. The library is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Saturdays from 10:00 am to noon.

There is also a Story Time activity offered to children of 2 years old and more.

CIVILIAN POST OFFICE

A postal outlet is located in the CANEX shopping centre, building 19. It provides all Canada Post services, except post office boxes. Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

MILITARY POST OFFICE

The Valcartier Garrison post office is located in building 200 and provides all the services offered by Canada Post, including post office boxes free of charge for single quarters residents.

It opens from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, including lunch hour, Monday through Friday.
