INTERSECTION VOLLEYBALL BY-LAWS

2009-2010

1.                  All matches will be played under VCA rules with exception stated herein.

2.                  All matches will go to 25 points (rally point).

3.                  All matches will be played the best 2 out of 3 sets with the winning team earning 2 points.  If the time expires before the match is completed, the team that is leading at the time of completion will win the set. If the sets are tied at one a piece prior to the start of the final set, the match will be declared a tie and both teams will receive one point.

4.                  A minimum of 4 players per team is required to play a match.

5.                  Any team unable to play the day of their scheduled game must notify their opposition and the Sports Coordinator by 1000 hrs that day. The game will be rescheduled.

6.                  An official will not be supplied, no protests will be entertained. All calls will be in full agreement to both teams on the playing surface.

7.                  All matches will be played on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 1200-1300 hrs.

8.                  There will be a grace period of 15 mins for late teams. After this period has expired, the late team will be declared in default.

9.                  Maximum of one base/CISM Men’s team player allowed per team. 

10.              Blocking on the serve is not permitted.

11.              Teams may avoid defaulting by contacting the opposing team’s rep, and leaving a message with me at local 5511, before 1000HRS on the game day.

12.              In the case of a default (no-show, not enough players, etc.) the team that did not default will be considered to have won all two games (thus getting 2 points).

13.              First teams set up the equipment, last team takes it down.

14.              A team must play a minimum of fifty (50) percent of scheduled games to be eligible for playoff competition. Games that are cancelled due to military commitments will not be considered as missed games. 

15.       Teams are responsible for turning in completed game sheets to the Bldg 21 F&S office.  If office is locked, game sheets should be left in appropriate volleyball folder.  Games without completed score sheets will be recorded with zero (0) points awarded to the respective teams.
