Constitution and By-Laws

Slow Pitch Rules

I.  NAME

     1.  The name of the league shall be entitled the 17 Wing Winnipeg Intersection Slo-Pitch League.

II.  AUTHORITY FOR ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION

     2.  The 17 Wing Winnipeg Intersection Slo-Pitch League is established under the authority of CFAO 50-3. The by-laws are amplified by the league constitution.

III.  PURPOSE

     3.  The purpose of the league is to foster interest in Slo-Pitch and provide a recreational and physical outlet for military personnel and DND employees,

IV.  MEMBERSHIP

     4.  All military personnel on posting or attached duty to 17 Wing Winnipeg and full-time DND employees are eligible to participate in the league.

V.  TEAM COMPOSITION

     5.  The team composition will be as follows: 

a.                   breakdown of teams will be determined at a general meeting at the beginning of each season; and

b.         unlimited substitution is permitted on a game to game basis providing your team players are on your team list which is held by the Sports Coordinator.

VI.  ELIGIBILITY

     6.  The league is open to all military personnel and full time DND employees. Players are eligible to play for only one team in the league.

VII.  REGISTRATION

     7.  I will send out the team nominal roll form electronically.  Please send any amendments to me throughout the season so that I can update the team list. 

VIII.  JURY OF APPEAL

     8.  The Jury of Appeal will be comprised of the following individuals who are responsible for any disciplinary action during the Intersection Slo-pitch season:

*Any decision made by the Jury of Appeal is final

IX.  AMENDANTS TO CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

     9.  Amendants shall be presented to the Sports Coordinator in writing. The approval by the members (a vote from each team representative at a meeting plus approval by the F&S Director will cause the constitution or By-laws to be amended.

X.  DISCIPLINE AND GENERAL CONDUCT

10.  This is an Intersection League, designed for fun and participation. Refer to the By-Laws for disciplinary action.

XI.  REVOKING MEMBERSHIP

     11.  A player may be expelled from the league for an offence he/she has committed. Refer to the By-Laws for Ruling.

XII.  SEASON/EQUIPMENT/SCHEDULE

     12.  Team must play three regular season games to be eligible for the playoffs.  The honor system will be used.

     13.  Teams can sign out equipment bags from Rick Phillips @local 5871.

     14.  The deadline to send in your team nominal role will is Tuesday, 11 May 10.  The schedule will be sent out on Thursday, 20 May 10 and the season will commence on the week of  25-28 May 10. All I/S Slo-pitch games will played on the Bldg 90 ball diamonds (Diamond #2).

     15.  Team practice times can be scheduled through the Facility Coordinator, Andy Oxley @ local 2055. 

     16.  WCWO Slo-pitch Tournament is scheduled for Friday, 18 Jun 10 – More info to follow.

XII.  ADOPTION

     18.  This constitution was adopted at the organizational meeting dated 4 May 10.
